EXPERIENCE IN THE POLITICAL ARENA

What does it take to be Ohio's governor?  Anyone can wear a suit and tie and attend official meetings.  But being governor requires so much more.  It requires a commitment to serve the people.  It requires a person with integrity, someone who stands up for truth and justice.  It takes drive and perseverance as well as the ability to hear the people and address their needs.  I believe I have those abilities.  The people should be heard, and I WILL listen.  The state government's lack of progress has been a gross misuse of our tax dollars.  As the leader of our state government, I will represent all Ohioans and get you positive results.

While I have been out on the campaign trail gathering signatures for my nominating petitions, several individuals have questioned my level of experience. This is a legitimate question from what I believe is a truly educated voter. The answer I have provided is that I have always closely monitored elections and issues in my district as would be expected from any educated voter. During the past few months, I have learned volumes about the election process and campaign management. This supplements my knowledge of the current political system in the state of Ohio.  However, the focus of the question is directed at my ability to function with the other elected members of our state government. How will I accomplish anything working with the State Senate and House?  This is a very difficult task for any governor, and much more difficult for an Independent candidate like myself.  With the advent of term limitations, veteran congressmen are being replaced by newer politicians with interesting and innovative ideas.  I believe that these new ideas are not much different than many of my own, and if properly guided by the leadership of a dedicated governor, the political system would function as it was designed.

My students see that same dedication everyday in my classroom.  Many have signed my petition because they believe we can make a difference.  It is their faith in us and our abilities which drives this campaign.  Even if we fail to win the election, our expedition will be a shining success.  Our voices will be heard, and that is the lifeline which keeps this democracy alive.  I have been raised in the echoes of that precious Liberty Bell.  One day, I hope to ring that bell for my son, my students, and all Americans.

"Let freedom ring!"

"My students on the floor of the Ohio House of Representatives."
